Hot Chocolate

I was introduced to Hot Chocolate as early as pre-teens, thanks to the all the classic novels I read. A typical line would read,

…in the bed with a mug of hot chocolate…

Aah this transports me back to the vintage classic novels with Earls, Dukes, Countesses. A starry-eyed teenager. :)

It is no wonder that I have been wanting to make this divine and comforting hot chocolate at home for the longest time.

And my wish came true this week when I in my usual attempt to use up leftovers had perfect ingredients for a hot chocolate.

There was Chocolate Syrup I made a couple of months ago and some Coffee Whipped Cream leftover from the Celebration Coffee Mocha Cake I made for our Anniversary.

You have the perfect Hot chocolate ready for you in a jiffy.

I didn’t have the right mug to drink or shoot a hot chocolate but I guess the flowers made up for the mood.

Absolutely loved the drink – Thumbs Up by my daughter, V and me.

It was rich, creamy, chocolatey and comforting as it should be. All I needed was a Duke. ;)

I even served it chilled to V when he came back from office and he also loved it. I can confidently say that this Hot Chocolate is perfect as Chilled Hot Chocolate too. :D

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 1 Mug

Hot Chocolate #leftover

Perfect cup of hot milk for all things comforting.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pour Chocolate Syrup in a mug. If you are making in smaller cup like me, then reduce the syrup to 2 Tbsp.
  2. Add whipped cream to the mug. Mix the syrup and cream well.
  3. Pour hot milk over the mixture. Use as much or as little milk you desire. Serve hot.

Notes:

Minimally adapted from here

You can make it Chilled Chocolate by adding Cold milk in place of hot milk.
