DIY Red chillies at home. It is so simple to dry them at home.

Ingredients

  • Green Chillies

Instructions

  1. When buying green chillies, select chillies which have started turning just a wee bit red around the mouth or any other part.
  2. Place them in sunlight spread over a fine mesh cloth/ muslin. You can even use a platter for the same.
  3. Bring them back into the house after evening otherwise they will absorb more moisture from mist.
  4. After a few days, you will notice that the whole chilli has turned red and has wrinkled. It means that you are on right track.
  5. Just be patient and allow some more days of sunlight till it totally looses water content and become dry. Once it reaches this stage, remove and store in an airtight container in a clean and dry place.

Notes:

You can dry the chillies in shade or kitchen also if there is no sunlight. It may take a little longer.
