Cheese Sauce

250 ml of sauce Conversion Chart Print

Ingredients

250 ml of milk
2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
2 tablespoons of butter
¼ cup of grated cheddar cheese
salt to taste

Preparation

1. Melt butter in a thick bottom sauce pan. Add flour and cook slowly on low flame.
2. When the flour is cooked, remove it from the flame and whisk in milk in a thread like pour. Continue whisking the flour and milk, till all the lumps are dissolved. Whisking is very important otherwise flour will forms lump and will not be easy to break down later.
3. Return the pan to the flame and whisk for another 2 mins while the sauce bubbles then stir in the cheese until melted. Add salt if needed.

Notes

Use this sauce for a variety of dishes, pastas, on sandwiches, as dip to nachos or like my kids for dosas too. :)
